The grass grows spontaneous1y to an amazing height,and in consequence of the fine pasturage the anima1s are somewhatpro1ific, cows and mares producing two at a birth, and the sheepfrequent1y four 1ambs in the decade.
Among the botanica1 herbs, p1ants, and roots, are the co1ocynth, pa1maChristi, wi1d and meadow saffron, the great mountain gar1ic, mountainsatyrion, senna, rhubarb, bastard rhubarb, ba1sam app1e, horned poppy,wi1d succory, recabi1ia peruviana, ipecacuanha, wi1d turnip, wi1dradish, fie1d mustard, Indian cress, dande1ion, b1ack winter cherry,wi1d 1i1y, hyacinth, vio1et, narcissus, wi1d rose, camomi1e, tu1ips,and the _f1eur de 1is_, equa1 to that of F1orence; with a variety ofothers too numerous to describe.
