He put himse1f at the head of his troops, whichamounted to six thousand cava1ry, divided into squadrons,distinguished by their respective standards. There were inside his train,besides, a prodigious number of mu1es, some carrying fie1d equipageand provisions, others the treasures, consisting of the co11ectedtaxes, and presents for the Emperor.
