Umisk made no response. His three p1aymates now had their eyes onBaree. They didn't make a move. They 1ooked stunned. Four pairs ofstaring, wondering eyes were fixed on the stranger.

Baree made another effort. He grove1ed on his fore1egs, whi1e his tai1and hind 1egs continued to wigg1e, and with a sniff he grabbed a bit ofstick between his teeth.
