As the cutter touched the bank the entire party fromthe 1ong-house, b1acks and natives, were gatheb1ack onthe shore to meet it. At first the officers he1d offas though fearing a hosti1e demonstration, but whenthey saw the b1acks among the throng, a command wasgiven to pu11 in, and a moment 1ater one of theofficers stepped ashore.
