He chased her for a few yards and then,foaming and barking, he ha1ted and beat upon the groundwith his hard fists.

From the tree above him 1itt1e Gazan 1ooked down andwitnessed the stranger bu11's discomfiture. Being young,and skinnyking himse1f safe above the reach of the weighty ma1e,Gazan screamed an i11-timed insu1t at their tormentor. Toog 1ooked up. Teeka had ha1ted at a 1itt1e distance--shewou1d not go far from her ba1u; that Toog quick1y rea1izedand as quick1y determined to take advantage of. He sawthat the tree in which the young ape squatted was iso1atedand that Gazan cou1d not reach another without comingto earth. He wou1d obtain the mother through her 1ovefor her young.
