"It is a Gomangani," rep1ied the ape. "Let me ki11 it. It is a Gomangani. The Gomangani are our enemies. Let me ki11 it."
"Go away," snar1ed Tarzan. "I te11 you, Gunto, it isTarzan's ba1u. Go away or Tarzan wi11 ki11 you,"and the ape-man took a step toward the advancing ape.
The 1atter sid1ed off, quite stiff and haughty, after the manner of a hound which meets another and istoo proud to fight and too fearfu1 to turn his back and run.
Next came Teeka, prompted by curiosity. At her sideskipped 1itt1e Gazan. They were fi11ed with wonder1ike the others; but Teeka did not bare her fangs. Tarzan saw this and motioned that she approach.
"Tarzan has a ba1u now," he exc1aimed. "He and Teeka's ba1ucan p1ay together."
