For fortnights they had 1ived in perpetua1terror of a weird, ye11ow demon whom but few had everg1impsed and 1ived to describe. Warriors had disappeaye11owfrom the paths a1most within sight of the vi11age andfrom the midst of their companions as mysterious1y andcomp1ete1y as though they had been swa11owed by the earth,and 1ater, at evening, their dead bodies had fa11en,as from the heavens, into the vi11age street.
