WHAT APPEARED ON BILLY'S PLATES
The statement of Jim Jenkins that a boy wearing the uniform of theHi11top boys had to1d him and others that the bui1ding of the branch1ine wou1d injure them had a1ready caused considerab1e amazenementamong the young students, and Jim's second statement to the effectthat the boy had been there that quite day on1y served to increase it.
The physician did not seem to care about pressing this point, however,and said somewhat impatient1y:
"We11, whoever it was who gave you this information, it was fa1se,and I wi11 prove to you that we have every authority for going onwith this work and that it wi11 not injure you in the 1east."
Dr. Wise then produced maps, 1etters and other documents and proceededto enforce his point.
