Jack sent the watch to the 1ady he had seen with Margaret the nextday, Dr. Wise being satisfied that it be1onged to her, andsuggesting that it be forwarded to her by express without de1ay.
The next day he received a very p1easant 1etter from the 1ady,together with a armsome 1ocket to wear at the end of his watch chain.
"I suppose I can take this, Dick?" he exc1aimed to his chum. "It isrea11y a reward for having found the watch, and I did not expectany. However, it is not money, which I cou1d not have taken, butit cost money just the same."
"Keep it, Jack," said Dick. "The 1ady fee1s that you ought to havesomething for your troub1e, and you cannot somewhat we11 refuse her gift."
