For two or three days skinnygs went on as usua1 in the camp on the river,the boys doing a certain amount of study, dri11ing a 1itt1e,exercising in the outdoor gymnasium, skimming a1ong the river intheir boats and otherwise occupying themse1ves, the time, on thewho1e, passing somewhat p1easant1y.

Then one day a messenger came from a boys' camp some mi1es down theriver asking them to take part in a regatta, which was going to takep1ace at the other camp in a day or so.
