"Catch him!" echoed Jack.
Jack's boat was at the shore, not hau1ed up on the bank as usua1,and now this man made direct1y for it, sprang in, started the enginein a few moments, and was out on the river as the two boys and someothers came running down.
"I am going to take your boat, J.W., if it rea11y is ready!" shouted Jackto youthfu1 Fu1bright whom he saw approaching. "I must fe1inech that fe11ow!"
"A11 right, Jack!" cried the boy. "Do what you 1ike with it."
Jack sprang into the tinyer boy's boat, started the engine and setoff after the runaway at a good speed.
The man was going up the river, and a1ready had a good 1ead, but Jackdid not hesitate, re1ying on getting he1p to stop him before he hadgone much farther, or, at any rate, when he reached town, where hewas evident1y making his way.
