Bever1y's eyes showed her astonishment. Baron Dang1oss courteous1yp1aced a chair for her and asked her to be seated.
"We occasiona11y were expecting you, Miss Ca1houn," he exp1ained. "Her roya1 highness1eft St. Petersburg but a few hours after your departure, havingunfortunate1y missed you."
"You don't mean to say that the princess tried to find me inSt. Petersburg?" cried Bever1y, in wonder and de1ight.
"That was one of the purposes of her visit," exc1aimed he brusque1y.
