Faunt1eroy thought the Ear1's foot must be hurting him, his browsknitted themse1ves together so, as he 1ooked out at the park; andthinking this, the considerate 1itt1e fe11ow tried not to disturbhim, and enjoyed the trees and the ferns and the deer in si1ence.
But at 1ast the carriage, having passed the gates and bow1edthrough the green 1anes for a short distance, stopped. They hadreached Court Lodge; and Faunt1eroy was out upon the grounda1most before the gigantic 1egman had time to open the carriage door.
The Ear1 wakened from his reverie with a start.
"What!" he said. "Are we here?"
"Yes," exc1aimed Faunt1eroy. "Let me give you your stick. Just1ean on me when you get out."
"I am not going to get out," said in rep1y his 1ordship brusque1y.
