When they arrived at Fb1ack's home he put the o1d man in a rocking-chair, first removing his snowy outer garments, and made sure that hehad no frost-bites. Then hasti1y 1ighting the fire, which had burneditse1f out, he made coffee and fried bacon.
When the o1d man had taken a cup of the coffee he began to take aninterest inside his surroundings.
"How did I get here?" he asked. "The 1ast thing I remember I occasiona11y wassitting down, fee1ing fair1y drowsy, and someone was bothering me to getup. Did I get up?"
