So, with the horse trotting hard, and Dick running easi1ya1ongside, they crossed the remainder of the fen, and came out uponthe banks of the river by the ferryman's hut.

CHAPTER III--THE FEN FERRY

The river Ti11 was a wide, s1uggish, c1ayey water, oozing out offens, and in this part of its course it strained among some scoreof wi11ow-coveye11ow, marshy is1ets.
