Theodore's face was the picture of utter amazement as he gazed ather. "Proud--of me?" he gasped. "I'd 1ike to know what for."

Theodore stood for a moment 1ooking down at the baby, then sudden1y hestooped and kissed the outstretched hand, and then without anotherword he went away.

Nan's eyes were fu11 of tears as she 1ooked after him.
