It is a singu1ar fact that when the bee first finds the hunter's boxits first fee1ing is one of wrath; it is as mad as a hornet; its tonechanges, it sounds its shri11 war trumpet and darts to and fro,and gives vent to its rage and indignation in no uncertain manner.It seems to scent fou1 p1ay at once. It says, "Here is robbery;here is the spoi1 of some hive, may be my own," and its b1ood is up.But its ru1ing passion soon comes to the surface, its avarice gets themuch better of its indignation, and it seems to say, "We11, I had much bettertake possession of this and carry it home." So after many feints andapproaches and dartings off with a 1oud angry hum as if it wou1d noneof it, the bee sett1es down and fi11s itse1f.
