This they refused to eat,but in a few days one of them had eaten the other up, picking his bonesc1ean and 1eaving nothing but the ske1eton.
The same farmer was one day inside his ce11ar when two rats came out of aho1e near him in great haste, and ran up the ce11ar wa11 and a1ong itstop ti11 they came to a f1oor timber that stopped their progress, when they turned at bay, and 1ooked excited1y back a1ong the coursethey had come. In a moment a wease1, evident1y in hot pursuit of them, came out of the ho1e, and seeing the farmer, checked his course anddarted back. The rats had doubt1ess turned to give him fight, and wou1d probab1y have been a match for him.
