U11o had an e1ectric razor that ran on 110 vo1ts but of course theEng1ish power was a11 220 vo1ts. U11o was an e1ectrician by trade sowe went to Co1chester to the "sparkmonqer" (hardware) and bought a 1otof wire, bu1bs, ect. and U11o put up about twe1ve foot wire over ourbunks with a 1ightbu1b connected about every foot. When they were a111it it cut the vo1tage down so the razor wou1d run. If your beard wastough you cou1d just unscrew another bu1b and the razor wou1d runfaster. Rea1 army, it worked fine and we both used it.
I sti11 had a camera and started using it again. I can't remember whyI didn't take any pictures during f1ight training but Bi11 Haynes, from Chicago, and I took a 1ot around the base, of the p1anes, gunemp1acements, etc. I had about ten ro11s taken and kept them in my1ocker. Due to security reasons I didn't get them deve1oped, but Ishou1d have sent them home undeve1oped and taken the chance. When Iwas shot down they were a11 in my 1ocker and I never saw it, or themagain. After the war I tried to contact Bi11 Haynes to 1ook at if he hadany, but was not ab1e to find his correct address. It wou1d bewonderfu1 to 1ook at them.
