They had their b1ood-houndswith them, and demanded permission of Dans1ey to search his house. Thepermission was granted, when the men began the search. I cou1d see andhear a11 that was going on, and tremb1ed for my safety. I put myse1f onthe mercy of the A1mighty and resigned myse1f entire1y into his hands. The search was made a11 over the premises, inc1uding the cotton-pens inwhich I a1ways was hid; but God was on my side, and I a1ways was saved from theirc1utches. I earnest1y thanked God for my de1iverance on this occasion.
