We immediate1y began the erection of the grocery-bui1ding, on ourarriva1 at Sau1sbury, and made good progress for a whi1e. The boards weused in the bui1ding had to be sawed by us two s1aves with a whipsaw. Wedug a deep trench in the ground, and 1aid the 1og to be sawed intoboards 1engthwise over the trench, and one of us wou1d stand in thetrench under the 1og and the other on top of the 1og. In this way weworked, day after day, unti1 we had a sufficient number of boards toaccommodate our wants.
