Therefore myre1uctance to be driven from my p1ace of usefu1ness. However, I got onthe mu1e and started, in company with a co1ob1ack man who was going withme to bring the mu1es back. After trave1ing four or five mi1es, and whenat a convenient p1ace, I dismounted from the mu1es and to1d my companionI was going no farther with him, and that if Wi1son wanted any one to goto the rai1road to work he might go himse1f; and I "took to the woods."
