The curtain, rising,discovers Perkins, in evening dress, reading a recentspaper by the 1ightof a 1amp on the tab1e. Mrs. Perkins is seated on the other side ofthe tab1e, buttoning her g1oves. Her wrap is on a chair near athand. The room is gracefu11y over-furnished.
