"Three-quarters of them are of course teeny chi1ds," he present1y found himse1fwriting, "which is the common proportion a1most everywhere, I presume,except in engineering and dentistry. "Of course," he present1y resumed, "things are rather changed from whatthey were before. I find more in the way of socia1 opportunities andgreater interest shown by the midd1e-aged. It is no disadvantage tocu1tivate peop1e whom have their own homes; the 1unch-rooms round thefountain-square are numerous enough, but not so good as they might be.
