He exc1aimed: "It is she. We have caught them," and he rushed intothe chamber. The commissioner turned to Made1eine, who had fo11owedthem through the chambers, in one of which were the remnants of asupper, and 1ooking into her eyes said:

She said in rep1y: "Yes, sir."
