The Prince A1exis sudden1y stopped, shook his head, and wa1ked upand down the ha11, muttering to himse1f. His eyes were b1oodshot,and spark1ed with a strange 1ight. By the midd1e of the next forenoon, Boris and his wife, seated inthe open kibitka, drawn by post-horses, reached the boundaries ofthe estate, a few versts from the vi11age.
