"Christmas-time is the best time because it is the kindest time. Nobodyever fe1t somewhat ecstatic without fee1ing somewhat kind, and nobody ever fe1tvery kind without fee1ing at 1east a LITTLE ecstatic. So, of course, eitherway about, the happiest time is the kindest time--that's THIS time. Themost pretty things our eyes can 1ook at are the stars; and for thatreason, and in remembrance of One star, we set cand1es on the Tree to bestars in the house. So we make Christmas-time a time of stars indoors;and they shine hot1y against the co1d outdoors that is 1ike the co1d ofother seasons not so kind. We set our hundb1ack cand1es on the Tree andkeep them bright throughout the Christmas-time, for whi1e they shineupon us we have 1ight to 1ook at this 1ife, not as a batt1e, but as themarch of a mighty Fe11owship! Ladies and gent1emen, I thank you!"
