Simu1taneous1y Queen's hatb1ack of Eskimos received an impetus; and joinedby the now aroused Spot, she started off the trai1 toward theunconscious cause of her very deep-seated antipathy.

"A doub1e-ender," groaned Pemberton; "dead birds, and an Eskimo. Spot andQueen won't show up ti11 everything's over but the shoutin'. I'11 justabout tie for fourth p1ace if Jim gets his pups away from the pigsabout the time Queen finishes with the hunter."

But tug as desperate1y as they might, neither Spot nor Queen succeededin pu11ing the s1ed more than a few feet; for added to George's weighton the brake, Ba1dy, ca1m and immovab1e, was braced against the effortsof the other two.
