"Dear me," he said to infant. "Dear me, tink of mudder wanting to1ook at a huge u'gy t'ing 1ike fadder, when she cou1d 1ook at a'itty witty t'ing 1ike dis," and he rose and crossed to the cribwhere he deposited the sma11 creature with yet more gurg1ing andendearing.
